Maxwell’s demon, segregation and aspherical particles

Motivation : In Space Grains WP4, Maxwell’s demon, granular segregation and clustering of non-spherical grains will be investigated under microgravity. Experiments will be performed in the cell #1, as well as two dedicated cells #5 and #6. The experiments are fully described in a separated document. The planned experiments involve particle tracking, particle size and shape recognition, study of cluster formation. The relevant parameters of these experiments are the number N of grains and the volume of the system.
